Pay it forward

At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we wanted to help out people working in healthcare who had to go to work to keep our healthcare system moving. We offered a 2-for-1 meal for healthcare workers. Any member of the public was able to buy a meal for $18, and with that, they purchased a healthcare worker a meal, too!

And what a success it was. We sold/gave away 100’s of meals to our hard-working medical staff.

As we look at the future, I don't want to lose community support and care. We will continue to offer the pay-it-forward option. However, we will change it so that whoever needs a meal can have one. 

If we ever had a large number of meals to give away and no one came in to eat them, we would donate the funds to a local mental health charity.

Sauce for a Cause: A micro-donation that got big.

Last year, we started Sauce for a Cause. Any extra sauces requested were supplied for $0.50 each. And we wouldn't take any of the proceeds. In 2019, we donated $1782.50 just from extra sauces!
